In April 2024, I embarked on a transformative journey alongside opera singer Maria Devitzaki, immersing ourselves in the timeless art of Noh Theatre at the Katayama Noh Foundation in Kyoto. This residency was born from a deep desire to delve into the rich heritage, intricate techniques, and profound artistry that define Noh. Our goal was to explore how these elements could inspire and shape our own creative process.
This experience not only enriched our understanding but also opened doors to future collaborations with the Katayama Noh Foundation. Among the exciting possibilities is an In Situ performance at the Luxembourg Pavilion during the Osaka 2025 World Exposition, as well as the creation of a full-length work in 2027 to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic ties between Japan and Luxembourg.
